The name “Sithulpawwa” means “Hill of the Quiet Mind,” reflecting its serene and spiritual setting atop a rocky hill. The temple complex features ancient stupas, rock caves, murals, inscriptions, and statues of the Buddha, showcasing the artistry and devotion of early Buddhist civilization.
